DAYTON, Ohio Carillon Historical Park will host Molly Saves the Day, the first American Girls Book Club meeting of the season, on Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m.
American Girls will help Molly save the day while exploring how patriotic women helped break German U-boat codes while staying in the NCR Sugar Camp Cabins during World War II. Members will also explore an actual Waves Cabin used during WWII, while learning how to break invisible ink, ciphering and Morse codes. Members will delve into the history of patriotism in America just in time for Flag Day. Please bring your doll and enjoy crafts, stories and activities. Space is limited. Please RSVP by June 10 at (937) 293-2841.
The American Girls Book Club will continue through July and August. On July 16, members can travel back in time with Samantha on her blue bicycle and on August 6, hit a home run with Kit.
Membership to the book club is free, but donations are accepted. Anyone wishing to tour Carillon Historical Park can do so for an admission fee of $8/adult, $7/Seniors and $5/children ages 3-17. Members and children under 3 are free.
