Carillon Historical Park Presents
Miami Valley Sports History Exhibit The Miami Valley Sports History Association, in conjunction with Carillon Historical Park, presents a temporary exhibit entitled, Wow! I Didnt Know That About Sports in Dayton, which will run from April 1 to October 31, 2005. This exhibit celebrates the rich sports history of the Miami Valley. It will highlight the Miami Valley's teams, present individual athletic contributions to the region and display 20 different sports including baseball, football, basketball and golf. Some of the notable teams highlighted will be the Dayton Marcos of the Negro National League and the Dayton Triangles, one of the founding teams of the National Football League. In addition, the Soap Box Derby, which began in Dayton in 1934, will feature both a 1934 and a 1989 winning car. |
